October, 2026 – Japan!

Spent a delightful month in Japan – visiting family, friends, fish market and Planet Lab in Tokyo, snorkeling in Miyakojima, hanging out in Okinawa, hot springing in Kurokawa Onsen, and back to Tokyo for more visiting, eating, fireworks and seeing the Count Basie Orchestra at Blue Note Tokyo. I realized on this trip I had left Japan 28 years ago. Lots of changes, lots of continuity.

Tokyo Bay Planet Lab was almost as good as Roppongi Hills Planet Lab.

Lunch that same day, fresh from the market, $35 plus soup and dessert.

Our house/pet sitter, Larry, was ok but underwhelming. Below is the result of a bit of combing after a month of Taisho blowing out his summer undercoat. Almost as much over the next few days.
